Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was TV personality and ex-chef at the Institute of Culinary Education and previously taught cooking. She's the host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host with spiky blond wigs and a pumped-up personality, explains how to cook restaurant-style dishes in your home with simple techniques. Chef Burrell is also a part of several of the city's most prestigious restaurants, has learned about Italian food, its culture and traditions, and was a contestant on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in the Upstate region of New York Chef Burrell was attracted by the food. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step following her graduation with the Bachelor of Arts in English as well as Communications in the fall of 2004 from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The student says "I enjoyed being a Culinary Institute of American student. I enjoyed every moment." The Culinary Institute of the Americas was a fantastic location to learn. Following graduation, Burrell spent one year learning in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working at Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as in Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, a Michelin-starred restaurant. While in Italy she gained a profound appreciation and understanding of Italian cuisine and its culture. It is a huge influence on the way that Burrell prepares her food. Burrell was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board to brighten the lives of kids facing challenges. She is also an Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador where she advocates for awareness of children with diabetes. as a speaker, guest and teacher Burrell travels throughout the United States to discuss her culinary passion and profession. Anne, throughout her entire cooking journey, has said that it's an honor to be in a position to share her passion for the food industry with people.
